Roddur Roy, a vlogger, has been arrested for criticizing West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee over singer KK’s death.
On Saturday, police said they had filed a complaint against YouTuber Roddur Roy for allegedly criticizing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on a Facebook live.
Vlogger Roddur Roy, who is notorious for using profanity in his videos, blamed the current government for the demise of singer KK.
Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath aka KK died on 31 May after a performance at Gurudas College’s Nazrul Mancha. Reportedly, he begged the authorities to turn off the lighting or increase the air conditioning.
Reports: Roddur Roy Was Arrested In Goa
As per the latest report, Roddur Roy has been arrested in Goa. He was charged for reportedly abusing Bengal’s Chief Minister on Facebook Live.
Roy popularly known for using obscenities in his social media posts and legal battles, launched a storm of insults at the Trinamool chief minister and other leaders, citing mismanagement at Nazrul Mancha.
PTI claimed the case was registered under relevant sections of the IPC. Still, the report of Roy’s arrest has been confirmed by the leading news reports.

Roddur Roy Abused CM Mamata Banerjee On Facebook Live, Video Surfaces
Roddur Roy’s live video on Facebook in which he attacked Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, grabbed national attention.
In a Facebook live session, the vlogger criticized the ruling party for the mismanagement of singer KK’s final concert in Nazrul Mancha, which led to his death.

According to PTI, the case was filed on relevant sections of the IPC when Trinamool spokesperson Riju Dutta complained at the Chitpur police station.
He stated, “An investigation has been started in the matter as per the relevant sections of the IPC. He has been summoned as a part of the probe.”
After a concert at Nazrul Mancha, singer KK passed away. Despite his discomfort, he performed all 20 of the songs he had promised to meet the organizers.
The singer was seen sweating profusely when he took a break to wipe his face in videos posted on social media. In another video clip, he was also seen being rushed out of the venue.
