Delanie Wisz is a fifth-year UCLA senior and is majoring in Psychology. Before transferring, she was a member of the Loyola Marymount University softball team.
She has the script “I may not see you, but I can feel you.” tattooed on her shoulder as a tribute to her older brother, who died as a newborn. The same script is also repeated on the inside of her catcher’s mask.

Delanie Wisz has three siblings, with Amanda and Stevie being her older sisters, while Canyon is her younger brother. Hunter Wisz, her older brother, died in infancy on day 17.
Righetti was home to both Stevie and Delanie Wisz during their high school softball careers. Stevie was a sophomore on Scott Nickason’s 2013 Righetti team, which won the CIF Southern Section divisional title.

Her older sister Stevie was diagnosed with aortic stenosis just one year after birth and had open-heart surgery for the first time at the age of nine.
Numerous surgeries followed throughout her entire life. Last fall, an infection necessitated yet another open-heart surgery. After complications arose, she had to go through yet another procedure and stayed at the hospital this January.

Delanie Wish was born into an athletic family to parents Melissa Jo Wisz and Steven Charles Wisz.
In 2013, Melissa Wisz received a breast cancer diagnosis. She fought and overcame it a year later, emerging as a survivor.
When LMU organized its ‘Think Pink’ day to support the fight against breast cancer in April 2018, Melissa was asked to throw the first pitch.

Delanie began playing softball when she was five years old. Her mother had played softball for most of her life and had signed her and her sisters as soon as they were old enough.
She credits her love for the sport to her mother, who has been the greatest influence on her in this sport. Dubbed one of the most outstanding players back in the day, Melissa began playing and competing with 14-year-olds when she was only eight years old.

UCLA softball player Delanie Wisz holds American nationality and is of white ethnicity.
When Delanie had to choose between softball and soccer, she knew softball was the one for her. Her father told her that she needed to focus on one of the sports because she was good at both. After giving it some thought, she realized she couldn’t live without softball.
Aside from softball, she enjoys doing makeup. Delanie has been doing makeup since she was in high school, and she loves it. She hopes to obtain her license and work as a professional in the future.
