A murder was committed on May 26, 2022, in the 2200 block of Savannah Terrace in Southeast, according to detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch.

Derrico Johnson is an 18-year-old man from Southeast, DC who has been arrested and charged with the first-degree murder of a 16-year-old boy named Justin Johnson, of Temple Hills, MD, on May 26, 2022.

Members of the Seventh District arrived at the specified location for the report of a shooting at around 11:24 am. Members discovered a young man with what appeared to be gunshot wounds when they arrived.

When DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene, they discovered that the victim showed no signs of life. Before being sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Justin stayed at the scene.
