The married life of Lalit Modi has been a topic of interest for Netizen. Modi married Minal Sagrani who was the daughter of Nigeria-based Sindhi Hindu businessman Pesu Aswani and the ex-wife of another Nigeria-based Sindhi businessman, Jack Sagrani.
Unfortunately, Minal lost her life at the age of 64 while battling cancer in 2018. With Minal, Lalit had two children; a daughter named Aliya (born in 1993) and a son named Ruchir (born in 1994). It was sometime around the 2000s that Minal was diagnosed with cancer.
However, the child that has often been enquired about is Karima Sagrani, the step-daughter of Lalit Modi. Karima is the daughter of Minal and her ex-husband, Jack. She is in her late thirties.

Initially, when Lalit expressed his wish to marry Minal, his family opposed the marriage because Minal was a recently divorced mother and she was nine years older than Lalit. However, Modi gained the support of his grandmother, Dayawati Modi, who persuaded the family to agree to the marriage.
The couple married on October 17, 1991, in Mumbai but faced a social boycott in Delhi due to which they shifted to Mumbai. They started out in KK Modi’s apartment on Pedder Road, but as their family grew, they moved to Minal’s father’s house in Juhu.
After having their own child, Lalit’s family grew to include son Ruchir and daughter Aliya, as well as step-daughter Karima.

Karima is married to Gaurav who is the son of Monica and Vivek Burman of the Dabur group. She prefers keeping her private life off the radar. Karima’s mother delivered her in London and later moved to Delhi with her where Minal eventually married Lalit Modi.
When Karima and Gaurav married, their relationship caused a similar stir in Gaurav’s family as it had caused for Minal and Lalit. As a result, the Burmans distanced themselves from Gaurav after his marriage.
At this moment, the 53-year-old businessman works as the managing director of Elephant Capital plc, a public limited company listed on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market. Furthermore, he is also a director and promoter of Dabur India Ltd.
