Pat Healy aka Jeff Better Spicing Up Better Call Saul

Don Harvey played the role of Jeff in Better Call Saul Seasons 4 and 5. He emerged in the first episode of Season 4, “Smoke.”

In season 4, Gene Takavic joins Jeff’s cab and requests to be taken back to the mall where he works. When she notices an Albuquerque Isotopes air freshener hanging from his rearview mirror, she starts to worry.

Jeff recognizes Gene from Saul Goodman’s time in Albuquerque and stops at a green signal because he is staring at Gene.

Gene requests to be let out in a residential area, and Jeff pulls over. Gene notices the taxi doesn’t go as he walks away, at one point bending down to pretend to tie his shoes.

Coming to Season 5, Jeff insists that Gene be identified because he recognizes Gene as Saul Goodman. He keeps pressuring Gene to use the “Better Call Saul” tagline.

Gene’s anxious interaction with Jeff causes him to phone Ed Galbraith. Gene eventually has a change of heart, though, and says to Ed, “I’ll fix it myself,” before leaving.

Due to contractual requirements, Jeff had to be recast with a different actor for Season 6 of “We Own This City.” This is where Pat Healy’s role comes in.

Spoilers: Better Call Saul Season 6 Episode “Nippy”- Ending Explained

The first scene of the episode shows Marion, a lady, operating a motorized wheelchair in a supermarket. She observes Gene hanging posters in support of Nippy, a lost puppy. Gene is setting up a scheme and offers help to the lady.

After the opening title sequence, Jeff arrives home to voices in the kitchen. It turns out Marion is his mother, and he is shocked to see Gene with her.

As they eat dinner together, Gene inquires about any notable clients Jeff has ever had, and Marion forces her son to tell tales. The men have a private talk after being instructed to take out the garbage, during which Jeff threatens the former attorney. The scene ends with Gene returning home.

The next day, Gene meets two bodyguards, and they offer him a cup of tea and conversation. He collects data about the guard and monitors them properly. Next, Gene directs Jeff as they set up stakes and ropes in a snowy lot, and together they plan a heist.

The night of the heist begins in the department store. Gene observes the development from his seat in the security office, but things quickly go south when Jeff slips on the freshly mopped floor and nearly passes out.

The following day, Jeff wakes up and hears that the delivery has been picked up. It is plain that they are not pals as Jeff, his friend, and Gene examine the loot at Jeff’s home.

When Marion pulls up to the garage, the men have to hide the goodies, and she invites Gene inside. She inquires about Nippy, the dog he allegedly lost, and he replies that everything is fine because the animal was discovered in a nearby household.

Gene revisits the department shop after the heist on his lunch hour. He seemed to miss his time as Saul Goodman as he examined shirts and ties. But when he hangs the items back up, it appears to be final, like closing the chapter on a book.
