Pimp C was stage name of Chad Mathew Lamont Butler, an American rapper and record producer who was married to his wife, Chinara Butler, and they had a daughter named Christian Butler. He was most known for being one half of the hip-hop duo Underground Kingz alongside Bun B. (UGK).

After Pimp C was sentenced to 8 years in prison in August 2002, UGK was forced to take a break once more, resulting in both members pursuing separate careers. The Sweet James Jones Stories, Pimp C’s debut studio album, was released in March 2005 and was made up of material recorded prior to his incarceration.

Pimp C married Chinara, his wife, while imprisoned in 2003. They have 1 child together, a girl named Christian, and he has two elder sons from prior marriages, Chad Lamont Butler II and Dahcory Butler.

Chinara and Pimp C had only been married for four years, but they were looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. She has been quietly carrying on her husband’s legacy since his death.

She presently serves as the CEO of both UGQ and AllthingsTrill. She’s also a writer and executive producer. She has continued developing some of her husband’s projects since his death to honor his memory.

What Was Pimp C Cause Of Death?

On December 4, 2007, Pimp C was discovered dead in his hotel room. A coroner’s report claimed that his death was caused by complications resulting from his heavy consumption of purple drinks and his pre-existing condition of sleep apnea.

His wife called the hotel to inquire about him after not hearing from him the morning of the scheduled flight. Butler was discovered motionless in his hotel room by hotel workers, and he was pronounced dead shortly afterward. He was 25 days away from turning 34.

Butler’s body was soon returned to his birthplace of Port Arthur, Texas. On December 13, 2007, he was laid to rest in the Bob Bowers Civic Center in Port Arthur. Speakers included Port Arthur Mayor Deloris Prince, Pimp C’s mother Weslyn Monroe, and Bun B.

Pimp C Net Worth At The Time Of His Passing Revealed

Pimp C’s net worth was estimated to be $3 million at the time of his passing. In 2007, he died at the age of 33.

UGK reunited on August 7, 2007, to release their self-titled fifth studio album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The album, which included the hit track “International Players Anthem (I Choose You)” and gained widespread acclaim from reviewers, was Pimp C’s final UGK release.
